How you can help …
Consciously donate to the future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander children whose futures are compromised and taken out of
their hands.
Our donation strategy is outlined in our Partnership Document and
shows:

- What reciprocal benefits you can receive

WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children in out of home
care are not placed in licensed Aboriginal & Torres Strait
Islander residential care facilities as they should be.

HOW CAN WE FIX THIS?
We need to be the first licensed Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander owned & managed service provider of residential
care in Queensland within the next three (3) years.

WHAT WE NEED:
-
Back end support to maintain a strong framework
-
Training for more industry-qualified and accredited staff
-
Financial stability and sustainability through a strong governance and strategic framework

71 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were placed with Indigenous residential care providers, and 644 were placed with non-Indigenous residential care providers. Data does not show whether the residential care provider is licensed or unlicensed.
3
... 49% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in non-Indigenous residential care were between the ages of 10 to 14 years old - the most important years for forming cultural and foundational identity pillars.
